Description: Hammer Bridge represents an unusual type of bridge in a Norwegian context. It looks like a house with openings in both ends that has been placed across the river. These covered bridges with built-in wooden beams were, on the other hand, common in England and the USA. The listed Hammer Bridge was built in 1925 as a copy of the first bridge at this location from 1884. Hammer Bridge is said to be the second longest bridge of its type in the world.
