Description: The history of Greivjord Mountain Farm dates back to the time of the Black Death in 1349. The farm is situated 550 meters above sea level on the sunny side of the mountain Gaustatoppen (1883 meters above sea level) and is a picturesque farmstead with several buildings dating back to the 18th century. There is active farming at Greivjord, which is situated in a living cultural landscape. Among the domestic animals are sheep and poultry. As a guest at Greivjord you can enjoy your stay in the old house ("gamlestugu") from the 18th century. Eight persons can be accomodated here. You can live in sunweathered houses and sleep in beds painted in the traditional decorative rosemaling technique. The management at Greivjord offers a "historical visit" and insight into traditions that go 700 years back in time. The farm is nice for children. You may use rowing boats, canoes and go fishing. In winter there are miles and miles of prepared ski tracks around, that suits beginners as well as trained skiers. The old slogan of Tuddal is still honoured: "You never get lost when you go to Tuddal".
