Description: Innerdalen is often called the most beautiful valley in Norway. In 1967 the valley was finally protected after a long struggle against plans to build a power station. Renndøl summer farm is situated in these surroundings, with a view to dramatic mountaintops from its position down by the Innerdal Lake. In the farmyard chickens run free, and sheep graze in the area. The first recorded settlement in Innerdalen is from around 1620, and there have been summer farms in the area since 1740. After a 3-km walk from the end of the road you will arrive at the traditional summer farm that is run today as a tourist centre with 24 beds. At Renndøl summer farm you are served typical and authentic summer farm fare. The many buildings on the farm have been renovated and are well maintained, and here you won't find a television, radio, or "artificial" activities. But the farm is the perfect starting point for walks and mountain climbing in Trollheimen. The mountaintop Dalatårnet, especially, is popular among people who appreciate challenging mountain trips. This and other mountaintops have secured Innerdal's reputation as a centre for mountain climbing for many years. Guests can rent boats and fish in the lake or river, or just relax in pleasant surroundings after a walk in the mountain heights.
