Description: Austrått Fortress is a former German fortification with a gigantic five-storey cannon tower. This installation had an important strategic location at the mouth of the Trondheimsfjord. Visitors may join a guided tour (about one hour) through the entire cannon tower, the electricity plant, the quartering where 200 soldiers lived, as well as to Fosen Krigshistoriske Samlinger, an exhibition about the German occupation of Fosen during World War II.
