Description:
Meldal District Museum has around 20 preserved buildings with charming interiors. Among the buildings is a typical farmhouse from Maum and the cotter's farm Litjholtgjerdet. The openhearth house is a reproduction, but this is the only place in Trøndelag where you can experience the special atmosphere of a room with a smoke vent in the roof. Three of the buildings are associated with waterpower. The museum presents the architectural traditions and living conditions of the village from the 1600s until World War I.

Updated informationAddress:
The museum is located by Route 700 just north of Meldal centre.
