When Ytre Hauge Farm was bequeathed to Odda district in 1985 by Tore N. Hauge the buildings were virtually unaltered from when Hauge's parents lived. As they stand today, the buildings show the lifestyle and architecture at the relatively-large Røldal farm in the beginning of the 19th century. The Rabbastova building (a later addition) is regarded as the oldest preserved dwelling in Røldal. This building contains a textile collection with a particularly-beautiful collection of baptism bonnets from the village.
