Description: Ingebrigt Vik Museum comprises most of the works made by the sculptor Ingebrigt Vik (1867-1927). He is considered one of the greatest Norwegian sculptors, and he is well-known for his thoroughly prepared sculptures. Ingebrigt Vik grew up in Øystese, and worked as a wood carver in his father's workshop. He got his education as a sculptor in Copenhagen and Paris. His works are now displayed in the octagonal museum building in Øystese centre. Some of his best works are exhibited in the National Gallery in Oslo.
